The fourth annual Bio Summit took place virtually this October, during which our CEO, Natsai Audrey Chieza, gave a keynote about our practice centred around the role of design and science in the post-Covid-19 reality. Other speakers on the programme included David Kong, Drew Endy, LaDonna Bravebull, and Thomas Mboa.
For the past four years, the community-driven project, inaugurated by the Community Biotechnology Initiative at the MIT Media Lab, has been gathering diverse groups of individuals from around the globe – DIY biologists, community biologists, biohackers, biomakers – to connect with each other, organise, create pathways for the democratisation of biotechnology, all the while building a global network of biodesign enthusiasts.
Many thanks to all the participants and organisers for making it happen despite the unprecedented moment we are living through.
